Mexico City, October 15, 2019.- The upcoming exhibition Europa, presents for the first time in Mexico the work of Camille Vivier (France, 1977) within the International Photography Festival, FotoMéxico. The current edition revolves around photographic works by women and artists who reflect on the feminine identity in the artistic, political and social spheres. On this occasion, Vivier will participate as an exhibitor and jury.

Camille Vivier's work uniquely portrays the sensuality and eroticism of women. She constructs surreal atmospheres through lighting, sculptures and hazy figures that invite an uninhibited interpretation without imposing a rigid concept of beauty. Vivier explores new ways of seeing traditional motifs in photography such as nudity, eroticism and beauty. She presents the female body devoid of taboos while creating fascinating dialogues between the living and the inanimate, the beautiful and the strange.

Camille Vivier is internationally recognized and collaborates with magazines such as Número, Vogue, Purple Magazine, Dazed & Confused, Interview, L'Officiel and with major fashion brands in advertising campaigns and editorial projects. She is also represented by Iconoclast Image in France and Galerie für Moderne Fotografie in Berlin, Germany.

In addition to her commercial work, Vivier has also built a broad personal portfolio that explores the body, sculpture and femininity. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and international institutions including CAPC Bordeaux, Galerie Für Moderne Fotografie, Galerie Kamel Mennour, Maison Européenne de la Photographie, and during the festival Rencontres de la Photographie d'Arles . In 1988 she was awarded the Photography Prize at the prestigious Hyères Festival and in 2002 she entered the Villa Medicis international residence. Vivier has published three personal books: Couleurs du Spectre in 2011, Veronesi Rose in 2012 and more recently Twist by Art Paper Editions in 2019.

The exhibition Europa is curated by Apolonia Torres and brings together a selection of works from the series Sample, Olympic, Sophie, Motorcycle Girls and Vivier's most recent work. The exhibition consists of approximately 50 works in small, medium and large scale.
